FAQs
Why is Pocket Caddy so much cheaper than other models?
We have tried to make Pocket Caddy as affordable as possible by cutting out as many middle-men as possible.
We buy our hardware directly from the factory and we sell direct from our website.
We don't spend too much on fancy advertising or marketing and we even design our own website, logos and branding in-house.
As a result our packaging might not be as flash as some of the other products, but without lots of costs and middle-men you can be sure that you are paying the right price for a quality product.
What courses are covered?
We currently have aerial images of the entire United Kingdom.
This means that we can supply Pocket Caddy with any course in the UK.
We are currently speaking with suppliers for Europe and USA so expect to be able to supply courses in these regions as well.
How many courses can I have?
The price of a Pocket Caddy includes one course, pre-installed.
Further courses can be purchased for £7.50 each.
Courses are simply downloaded onto your PC and then installed onto your Pocket Caddy through the USB connection.
How accurate is Pocket Caddy?
Pocket Caddy has a very sensitive GPS system built-in and is accurate to between 1 and 3 yards.
This is more accurate than most golfers!
What is the battery life?
The built-in battery in your Pocket Caddy will last for about 4 hours.
Because we know that some rounds of golf can take longer than this we include with your Pocket Caddy a small, rechargeable booster battery.
You can keep this in your golf bag and if the battery is getting low in your Pocket Caddy then you can attach the booster battery for a couple of holes and it will give you enough power to finish your round.
The Pocket Caddy and booster battery will together last about 15 hours, enough for 3 rounds between charges!
Are GPS devices legal?
The R & A recently deemed that GPS devices are legal for non-competitive (practice) rounds and that it would be a 'local rule' to determine if they are legal for tournaments.
This means that it is up to your club whether or not they can be used for medals, but there is no problem using them in friendly and practice rounds.

Can I download Pocket Caddy onto my phone or PDA?

It will currently work on any Windows Mobile 5 or 6 phone or PDA with integrated (or bluetooth) GPS.
Is there any advertising on the Pocket Caddy?
No, Pocket Caddy doesn't go in for advertising on the system.
Is there a manual mode for when the GPS fails?
No, the GPS doesn't fail on Pocket Caddy.
